The proper way to determine the diameter of a coin is to measure the obverse in millimeters from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock. An oval flan could produce a larger or smaller number than a median reckoning which, if photographed, would quickly tell the prospective buyer of its irregularity.
While metal micrometers with fancy read-out dials are commonly sold in the numismatic marketplace, don't use them. The metal of a coin should never touch another metal. A plastic micrometer is excellent and just as accurate (as well as being less expensive), as are the clear plastic measuring devices made for philatelists. Look for a perforation gauge which includes a millimeter ruler on the side; these are usually manufactured with high precision.
Estimated Value $900 - 1,350.

Extremelly Rare. This extraordinary rarity was part of the empire-wide coinage celebrating the Roman victory in the Jewish War, achieved under the command of Vespasian and finally of Titus. What sets this piece apart is the remarkable style of its portrait of Vespasian. It is, if such a thing is possible, an idealizing portrait of an aged man. It shows the creases in this forehead, but the flesh of his cheeks is firm and his expresion commanding. A wonderful example of the finest style.
